Rug hooking is a folk-art craft born of necessity, providing warmth and color to homes of New England in the early 1800s. Designs were drawn on feed sacks in those days, hooks were fashioned from nails, and old garments were cut into strips by hand. Some things have changed, but hooked rugs are still made in much the same way - by pulling strips of wool through a loose-weave backing, forming loops to make a rug pile. Fredericksburg Rugs is now online and under construction. We hope to offer all of the elements for your rug hooking experience, here at fredericksburgrugs.com. Check back often as we build and update our web site. If
